Ilse Joy

Lately the only things I've been doing are driving back and forth to the NICU, pumping, and eating delicious meals.

Ilse Joy is doing well as far as her breathing and growing.  Her liver is now the proper size.  The doctors are running some tests, though, and so we'd like everyone to pray that everything comes back normal. Also, please pray that she continues to grow and move more and more.

Coming up here very shortly, possibly Monday, we get to try to give her some milk in her mouth to help her associate taste with getting her stomach full.  She needs to get to the point where she can swallow, breathe, and suck at the same time.  Some babies learn by 36 weeks, others don't learn till 44 weeks.  We'll see how Ilse does.  She might be in the NICU a long, long time.

I will Sing unto the Lord

I will sing unto the Lord!
I will sing unto the Lord!
For He has done great things
And this why I sing
Oh I will raise my voice and praise Him evermore!
I will sing unto the Lord!
I will sing unto the Lord!
And glory in His name, and praise the One who came
To break away the chains of sin forevermore!
We will sing unto the Lord!
We will sing unto the Lord!
Oh blessed is the man who delights in His commands!
For mighty will his children be forevermore!
For mighty will his children be forevermore!

  1. I'm glad that Ilse is doing better and that her liver is down to normal size. That is a blessing already! I am looking forward to hearing good news of her first time "eating"...at least thru her mouth. I am sure she will get it down soon!
