Today I had my 16 week appointment, and yay! Tim got to go! I was so glad; likely he'll only get to go to two appointments-- this one and the 20 week sono. It might not seem like a big deal to some people if the husband gets to go at all, but we are planning as if this might be the ONLY pregnancy EVER. He needs to get to go as often as he can. But I told him that if he didn't go to the 20 week sono something bad would happen, and he definitely understood how important it was. :)
So today the doctor gave me good news and bad news. The good news is that my blood pressure is great (and that's nice, because before pregnancy it was high.... stress, I guess), my uterus is where it is supposed to be (right below my belly button) and the heart beat is a strong 150.
The bad news, buh duh bum..... I have to eat more. I know, right? How unfair is that?!?!? He said eat at least two meals a day in addition to snacks. Ewww! We'll see if I can manage that. Of course, I tend to vote with Ivy and if it doesn't happen, I'm going to try not to stress about it.
On the other hand, I have been craving sausage biscuits. Not too horrible for you, but not too good, either. The only two other things I've craved in this pregnancy are mashed potatoes with gravy and lemonade. That didn't last long and I'm sure this won't either. But in the meantime, I'm going to enjoy them!
Things I can't eat are: chicken (hard to even type the word!) and salad (don't ask, but this one wasn't kind to me, and the doctor said to stay away from it. I know, a doctor who tells you not to eat salad! :))
